Conclusion

After looking at the years of research regarding the influence of media on children and media itself, two ideas are apparent. Firstly, that early research and opinions lent more towards its negative influence on children and secondly, it is enevidable that inappropriate content for children will show in media.

However, more recently, studies show the more positive influences media can have. These positive influences are reliant on two key components: parental monitoring, control, recommendations and guidance with appropriate content.

  1. Hi, Lin
    I agree with you that media has both good and bad influence of children. Watching TV or using computer for too long might also cause depression and make children antisocial. You had 3 parts of argument which 2 of them are about bad influence of media, and 1 of them is about good influence. However, it seemed to me that your own opinion is not very clear in both introduction and conclusion. Do you think media has more bad influence or good influence? Also, I didn’t see your reference list, so you might want to add it to your blog~~~^^;

  2. thank you for reading my blog Emily.

    well there are millions of websites that saying media is bad influence on children, ad i do agree on most of them. but i also agree that media bring benefit to children too, and it is almost impossible to avoid all the media for chidlren either. so my opinion is parent control is the most important key.

    for the refernece list, i will add it later thanks!

      Yes, I was told watch too much TV will harm your eyes, or is not good for your studies..other than that was pretty much never mentioned by my parents. Now that I have realized more about it, so that I could be aware more for my kids.
